New toys

So I work in an industry where I can quite comfortably spend £300k on a new TV. Admitadly it might be over 6m wide, but it's still a lot of money. And as if I didn't need tempting further with other new toys, Barco have finally announced their new 10,000 Lumen Single chip DLP projector.

http://www.barco.com/corporate/en/products/product.asp?element=3658

Looks like a great piece of equipment, and they've certainly crammed it with features to beat the Sanyo XF46/Christie LX120. They are now basically big desktop projectors, where as the CLM is a proper technicians projector, with a myriad of useful built in tools, that ship as standard.

I know there were some thoughts as to how they are dealing with the heat from the 4 lamps, and the temperature differential on the DLP chip itself, but I guess time will tell how well engineered and designed the unit is. I look forward to pitching it against the LX120, and seeing how the single chip engine compares to the LCD machines.

Bed calls. And I have loads to do. I need a 36 hour day tomorrow....

Night all,
Pete

Why is it that you can think of something great to write in your blog when your not near your computer, or when you can't actualy write something. But then you sit down to write something and your mind goes blank. So then you sit down and write about what happened in the previous minute/hour/day/week. And then the blog which you wanted to be some really high brow abstract thought collection, turns into a diary. Which is something I've always been absolutely useless at.

So another weekend bites the dust and heads into Monday. Which means that another week is going to be gone before you've realised. Which means that all those things I needed to do weeks ago, are now even another week overdue. And the things I want to achieve in life have one less week to do them.

But I think- sorry know, that I work better under pressure. Which means that another week down means that there is a bit more pressure to get those things sorted that need sorting. So, this week at work I need to do:
1) Finish re-writting the business plan.
2) Decide which LED screen to buy. A bit like deciding on which TV, except about 20 times the size. And a whole lot more expensive.
3) Find some new clients for the business.
4) Find someone to pay for said big screen. Or several people.
All in a weeks work really.

I'm going to go and play with Excel Spreadsheets and prices that have to many figures in them for their own good.

Pete.

Evening,

Well I have that smug sense of satisfaction that comes with doing something manly. And that is swapping the shower over from a slightly knackered one to the same, except minus the chared bits of the Live wire. So now we can shower in under hot water, with out the fear of being zapped by 230volts at a hearty 32Amps....

I was going to write soemthing deep and meaningfull, except it's gone midnight, and 2 Pints of Lager and Packet of crisps is on.

But then it has been quite a good day. Having met the businesses bank manager, and being quoted the price of a nice sized terraced house for one video screen. But then you can't rent your house out for £200 a week......actually hang on. You can. Hmmmm time to revisit the business plan......

Night.

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it's off Blogging I go.

So. Blogging.

Well it's a bit of a keeping up with the Joneses type thing. Then I saw some other people had got Blogger blogs, and discovered that it took 5 minutes to get the software sorted, that I could get it working from within our website, so that's it, I have a blog. Hopefully I might also keep the website up to date.

So what will I write about? Goodness knows. But it'll probably be stuff that gets on my nerves, things that are good, and random stuff. And then no doubt there will be stuff I'd love to rant about, except if I do, it could make things worse.

Sarah's also a bit sceptical. I'm sure I spend to much time on the 'puter anyway. But hey.

Minieggs and business plan calling.

P.S. Sorry if the spelling is bad, but the spell checker threw up an error.

Hello!

This'll be my first blog then. And it's going to be short as I have to go and sort out a problem with a PC.

Joy.
